Elena Nikolova - Executive Director

Elena Nikolova - Executive Director

Elena Nikolova has a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Saint Kliment Ohridski Sofia University. She has been working for Solidarnost since 2002, including two years as a volunteer. She is one of the founders of Solidarnost Association. She has specialized in addictions in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Poland. At the beginning of her career she was a teacher of psychology and philosophy at 133th Comprehensive School, Sofia. She has also worked for: SOS Kinderdorf as a supervisor and trainer; personnel recruitment companies; Phoenix Therapeutic Community. Since 2000, she has a private practice for psychological consultations and training. She is the manager of several projects, including Day Centre for Rehabilitation of Addicts (which won the 2007 Project of the Year prize of Lale (Tulip) Foundation), European Partnership in Education, training by travel, Establishing the Bulgarian Drug Helpline and an interactive website, etc. She is a member of the European network of European Companionship in Education, training by travel (www.ecett.eu) and the Society of Psychologists in Bulgaria, BG - RP- 0450 in the Public Register of psychologists (www.psychology-bg.org). She speaks French and English. She has been the Executive Director of Solidarnost since 2005.  

Svetoslav Kirilov - Therapeutic Director

Svetoslav Kirilov - Therapeutic Director

He has graduated in Psychology and is specializing in clinical psychology at the New Bulgarian University. He is a consultant in cognitive-behavioural therapy. He has been trained in: the model of Therapeutic Community for Addicts in CEIS Italy and Phoenix Haga, Norway; telephone and Internet consultations in Trimbos Institute, the Netherlands; MMPI-2 and APD diagnostics. He speaks Russian.  

Svetlana Velkova - Clinical Psychologist

Svetlana Velkova - Clinical Psychologist

 

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Sofia University and a Master’s Degree in clinical and consulting psychology form Sofia University. She is a PhD student at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". For one year she worked as a consultant in a service for Internet consultation on issues related to sexual and reproductive health. She has two-year experience in work with young people on projects for reducing violence and aggression in schools. She has been trained in work with addicts in Spain and Bulgaria and worked as a consultant in the National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline. She speaks English. Currently she is a clinical psychologist in the rehabilitation program of Solidarnost.

Rositsa Dolapchieva - Clinical Psychologist

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in clinical psychology and social work with children (Sofia University) and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology – psychoanalytical perspective (New Bulgarian University).

She has been a trainee in the Perspectives day center for rehabilitation of addicts for one year.
She was a senior operator in Phoenix therapeutic community. She speaks English.
Currently, she is a clinical psychologist in the rehabilitation program and consultant in the National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline.
 
 
   

Ina Apostolova - Psychologist, Family Counselling

Ina Apostolova - Psychologist, Family Counselling

Holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Master Degree in Family Counseling from New Bulgarian University. Therapeutic professional background as a consultant of victims of domestic violence and work exploitation at Foundation Association Animus as well as a consultant in Phoenix Therapeutic Community, dealing with drugs abuse, alcohol, and gambling addiction. Fluent in English. Currently a Family Counselor at the Rehabilitation Program of Solidarnost.

Georgi Kamburov - Leader of Creativity work-shop

Georgi Kamburov - Leader of Creativity work-shop

He is a post-graduate in art and psycho-social practices in New Bulgarian University. Since 2005 he has been participating in various art ateliers in psycho-drama, theatre forum and other creative practices. He is in charge of group work with adolescents in projects. He has been trained in the model of therapeutic communities for addicts in Ireland and Belgium. He speaks Russian and English. Since 2007, he has been working in Solidarnost as a leader of Creativity atelier.  

Christina Shentova – Clinical Psychologist

Christina Shentova – Clinical Psychologist

Christina holds a Master’s degree in Clinical psychology, psychoanalytical perspective from NBU (New Bulgarian University). She has an additional qualification in “Basic therapeutic skills in psychodynamic therapy” from “Dinamika” center. She has experience as a trainee in a psychiatric clinic. She has worked in the sphere of rehabilitation of people dependent on alcohol and drugs by the Therapeutic community model since 2011 – in TC “Feniks”, and since 2014 to the present in Association for rehabilitation of dependent people “Solidarnost”. She received her training in the TC model in Ley Community, Oxford, UK. She speaks English. Currently, she is a clinical psychologist in the low-threshold center "House Posoka" of Solidarnost Association.

Dimo Dimov – Work with Addictions Assistant

Dimo is a Bachelor in Marketing and Advertising (New Bulgarian University). He says that the work in Solidarnost Association is the most reasonable thing he has ever done. Currently, he is a work with addictions assistant in the low-threshold center “House Posoka” of Solidarnost Association.

She has been working as an assistant in the rehabilitation programme of Solidarnist Association since August 2007. Since April 2008 she has been a consultant in the Drugs Helpline. She has been trained in telephone and Internet consultancy in Trimbos Institut, the Netherlands, and in the model of therapeutic community of addicts in Spain. She speaks English. She is a coordinator of the team of the National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline.

Marina Popova – National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline Consultant

Marina is a Bachelor in psychology (VTU “St. Cyril and St. Methodius”) and a Master in Work and Organizational Psychology (SU “St. Climent Ohridski”). From 2010 to 2011, she was a volunteer at the National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline, and in June 2013, she started working as a consultant of the Helpline. She is trained in motivational interviewing and finished a special training for the work with telephone, chat, and e-mail. She speaks English.

Dilyana has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (SU “St. Climent Ohridski”). In November and December 2013, she was a trainee in the rehabilitation program of Solidarnost Association and, since March 2014, she has been working as a consultant at the National Drugs, Alcohol and Gambling Helpline. She received a special training in telephone and internet consulting and a base level training in motivational interviewing. She speaks English and French.

Culturologist, has been working with online media since 2001. She is interested in entrepreneurship, new media, applied and social arts. She loves discovering and travelling. Her responsibility as a volunteer is to perform SEO for Solidarnost’s website.

 Elitsa Seymour, volunteer, says:

"It would be great if more people knew what fulfillment volunteering can bring. I want to encourage more volunteers to get involved with noble causes in Bulgaria, investing whatever resources they can."
Elitsa was born in Sofia in 1979. She graduated with a BA in Philosophy from Trinity College in Connecticut, USA, in 2003. She also has an MBA with a major in Marketing from City University - Seattle Campus Sofia.
Elitsa is married with one daughter and a son. She lives in the UK with her family, where she spends her time writing.
